Vilma štritof is the New Selector of the 58th MTF Competition Programme

Following a positive opinion of the expert group, Artistic Director Aleš Novak has appointed dramaturge and theatre critic Vilma Štritof as the selector of the 58th Maribor Theatre Festival 

The new selection period starts on 1 January 2022 and will end at the end of the calendar year on 31 December 2022.

Vilma Štritof (b. 1962 in Ljubljana) started working with various Slovenian directors at the Mladinsko Theatre and later on at the SNG Drama Ljubljana, before graduating in dramaturgy. After graduating, she worked as a dramaturge at Radio Slovenia from 1991 (the archive contains over four hundred radio plays, including international awards) and as editor-in-chief of the ARS programme (for one year). Between 2001 and 2007, she worked as a secretary at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia. As a dramaturg and co-scriptwriter, she participated in two feature-length documentaries on Ivana Kobilca and Alma Karlin, the latter of which was awarded Best Documentary of the Year at the FSF (Festival of Slovenian Film). From 2015 to 2017, she took part as a dramaturg in the international workshop of the Norwegian platform Ibsen International in China. Her last two dramaturgies were abroad, in Beijing in 2016 and a year later in Tromsø, Norway. She has been a member of several Slovenian and international juries in radio, film, and theatre, and has also worked as a reviewer of projects (in film and theatre) and as an author of critical writings and radio programmes on literature and theatre. Between 2016 and 2019, she was the President of the Slovenian Association of Theatre Critics and Theatrologists, she is a member of the Editorial Board of the Kritika portal, and she was also on the jury of the recent Maribor Theatre Festival.
